EV323 fuses are used for short-circuit, overload, and back-up protection according to the requirements of the specific vehicle or DC power system. Final fuse selection should be based on the complete electrical and mechanical design of the application.
Selecting the Correct EV323 Fuse
Before approving a replacement or selecting an EV323 fuse for a new application, verify:
- Complete EV323 model number
- 2GL, 3NL, or 3NM mechanical configuration
- Rated current and 250VDC system voltage
- Breaking capacity and applicable L/R time constant
- Pre-arcing and total clearing I²t
- Power loss
- Mounting dimensions, bolt size, and tightening torque
- Ambient temperature and installation conditions
Under the manufacturer's stated normal operating conditions, the recommended long-term continuous current is generally no more than 80% of the fuse rated current. Applications outside normal temperature, altitude, cooling, or installation conditions may require additional evaluation or derating.
